The legendary Peruvian striker, Paolo Guerrero, is reportedly on the move once again. The all-time top scorer for the Peruvian national team is leaving Universidad César Vallejo and is in negotiations with several clubs, including Banfield.
Banfield, who recently signed forward Milton Giménez from Boca Juniors, are keen to land the experienced forward. The 39-year-old Guerrero would be managed by Uruguayan Gustavo Munúa and would reunite with his former teammate Rubén Oscar Capria, who is now at Racing.
Despite interest from his former club Alianza Lima, where he never made his first-team debut, Guerrero is leaning towards a return to his homeland.
His Time in Peru
After numerous ups and downs, Guerrero finally made his debut for César Vallejo in March 2024, scoring his first goal in just two minutes. However, his time at the club was marred by a fractured relationship with the management, leading to his eventual departure.
Despite his market value of around 100,000 dollars, Guerrero is determined to leave César Vallejo on good terms.
In any case, his time at Liga de Quito saw him win the Copa Sudamericana.
