Girl Poisoned with Vinegar in Suspicious Circumstances, Parents Under Investigation for Assault

The parents have been in police custody with full restrictions since last winter, as they are considered suspects of extremely serious assault, illegal deprivation of liberty, and assault over several years. The social service had already decided in December that the girl and her siblings would be taken into care. However, there are no suspicions that the parents have exposed their other children to similar crimes.
After almost eight months in the hospital, the seven-year-old girl has finally been allowed to leave, according to reports from Sydsvenskan. Prosecutor Ingegerd Jigin stated, “According to the circumstances and in relation to what has happened, she is doing well.”
The criminal investigation, which spans several months and thousands of pages, is now nearing its end. Prosecutor Ingegerd Jigin hopes to make a decision on the prosecution by the end of September. The parents continue to deny all accusations.
Additionally, a section 7 investigation, also known as a small mental examination, suggests that the girl’s mother may be suffering from a serious mental disorder. This raises further questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident and the potential motives behind it.
