Paris and Bayern qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of Sociedad and Lazio

The French team, Paris Saint-Germain, qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, after defeating its Spanish counterpart, Real Sociedad, with a score of 2-1, during the match that was held on Tuesday evening at the Anoeta Stadium in Spain, in the second leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain benefited from a 2-0 win in the first leg at home, qualifying on aggregate 4-1 and advancing to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Paris won the first half 1-0 through team star Kylian Mbappe in the 15th minute, which was the 45th goal in Mbappe’s Champions League career, making him the second youngest player to reach this number after Lionel Messi.

In the second half, Mbappe continued to shine, scoring his second personal goal in the 56th minute, making him top scorer in the tournament with 6 goals, equal to Harry Kane, and before the end, Mikel Moreno scored Sociedad’s second goal in the 89th minute.

In another match, Bayern Munich shook off its local missteps and succeeded in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, after defeating its Italian guest, Lazio, by three clean goals, on Tuesday evening, in the match that was held at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of the eighth final.

Bayern’s hat-trick was scored by Harry Kane (39-66) and Thomas Muller (45), as the Bavarian giant qualified, benefiting from its loss in the first leg by a goal without a response.
