This is not a rallying cry for farmers. Several demonstrations are planned throughout France this Monday, at the initiative of taxis. Considering snail-like operations, as there have already been in recent weeks, these professionals deplore the transport rates established by Health Insurance on medical transport and demand a withdrawal of the agreement between their profession and the National Fund for Health. Health Insurance.

This agreement, the new version of which must come into force on February 1, modifies the price of races when it comes to transporting patients (from home to hospital for example), which can represent a large part of the activity taxis. With inflation and the increase (in particular) in the price of fuel, taxis denounce unfair remuneration.

In Bordeaux (Gironde), where “several hundred taxis from several departments in the region are expected”, the prefecture advises residents to “favor teleworking and limit travel”. The taxis are planning to organize a snail operation on the ring road on Monday before converging towards the city center.

Marseille, Lyon, Cannes…

A similar event is also planned in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). France Blue mentions the presence of nearly 800 taxis on the A7, A55 and A50 before reaching the prefecture. “In the city center, the prefecture sector (Place Felix Baret) should be congested,” warns the prefecture. Gatherings are also planned near stations. Lyon (Rhône), under threat of a “siege” by farmers from Monday, will also see a taxi demonstration.

Taxis are also expected to demonstrate in several other major cities in France. This is the case in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), Toulon (Var), Tours (Indre-et-Loire), Nîmes (Gard), Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) and even Nice (Alpes-Maritimes).

If Parisian taxis had already participated in an operation of this type in mid-January, we do not know if this will still be the case this Monday. Still, the taxis of Yvelines, Val d’Oise and Seine-Saint-Denis have also planned a snail operation this Monday. Having to meet shortly before 6 a.m., they intend to converge on the Ministry of Health in Paris. This should not help traffic in Île-de-France when farmers intend to block traffic on several axes.
