Paroles d’Humains Festival Marks 25 Years of Cultural Resilience

A vibrant celebration of the arts, the Paroles d’Humains festival is returning for its 25th anniversary, reaffirming the importance of culture even amidst ongoing budgetary challenges. The festival, founded in 2002, aims to “celebrate, share beautiful moments and show that the arts are alive and well.”

The anniversary edition promises a diverse program encompassing theater, concerts, musical fables, and humor, with a total of 27 shows scheduled to tour across 13 cities, towns, and partner organizations. Key venues include the Cultural Centers of Verviers, It’s wrong, Theux, Spa-Jalhay-Stoumont, Welkenraedt, and Stavelot-Trois-Ponts, alongside the city of Herve and the municipality of Waimes.

A stellar lineup of performers will headline the event, featuring renowned artists such as Alain Chamfort, Caroline Vigneaux, Johan Dupont, David Murgia, Vincent Pagé, and Greg Houben.

The festival’s continued success is particularly noteworthy given the current climate. As one leader within the organization underscored, “Every year, this project takes on new colors. If there is one element that can echo this, it is the arts. However, they are heavily attacked. The arts have this vocation of collective disobedience and this gives us even more strength. The more difficult it is, the more we will resist.” This sentiment highlights a defiant commitment to artistic expression in the face of adversity.

For 26 years, the festival has evolved while maintaining its core mission. “We are proud to carry this multifaceted event,” the leader continued, emphasizing the festival’s enduring impact and its dedication to fostering community through the arts.

The Paroles d’Humains festival stands as a testament to the power of culture to unite and inspire, even in challenging times.
