With a joint announcement of the Agricultural Development and Food Sector with the responsible K.T.E. Rural Development MPs Manolis Chnari and Christina Starakas, PASOK-Movement for Change criticized the government for changing the administration of OPEKEPE.
“Five years of the New Democracy government and we count four ministers of Rural Development and Food and four presidents in the Organization for Payments and Control of Community Aid (OPEKEPE)”, report the party officials, pointing out the following:
“Yesterday, the fourth president of OPEKEPE resigned, following the prompting of the minister of YPATT, Mr. Avgenakis, in order to blow a fresh wind “to fully restore trust, justice, transparency” in the organization and to correct the mistakes in the payments of direct aid ».
“We would advise the government staff not to look for Iphigenias. Let them look for the causes of their failure in the sloppiness of planning the agricultural policy, in the daily setbacks to serve customer relations, in the poor coordination of the agencies involved, in the administrative interventions of the political leadership of the Ministry in the operation of the organization. The problems, much more than the persons, are found in the policies they are called to serve,” the announcement states.
