Plane Crash in Brazil Leaves No Survivors
A passenger plane carrying 62 people crashed in the southern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on Friday, with tragically no survivors, according to reports from the Associated Press and Reuters. Local authorities confirmed the tragedy.
The aircraft, an ATR-72 with a capacity for 68 people, crashed in a residential area of the town of Vinhedo. A video circulating on social media captured the moment of impact, followed by a thick cloud of black smoke rising from the crash site.
The flight was a domestic route from Cascavel in the state of Paraná to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo. The plane was owned by the Brazilian airline VoePass.
Emergency services and fire crews are already at the scene of the accident.
