Pathanamthitta ∙ The police arrested three people including two Kappa case accused from Adoor police station in the case of trying to kill the accused involved in the Kappa case of Kannur district. The accused Vishnu Vijayan (30) alias Kithu of Mutiravila Putthanveetil, Ejhamkulam Nedumonparamp Wayalkav, Karthik (26) of Surabhi House, Ejhamkulam Vyala, Koduman Vadak, and Shyam (24) of Ejhamkulam Vyala, Kutrimuk Udayanvila East, are accused in the case of brutally injuring and killing Jeryl P. George (25) at Patiyakandam near Kannur. and were arrested by the Adoor police.

The incident related to the case was last January 18. After being accused in several criminal cases, the accused beat Jeril at the house of brothers Suryalal and Chandralal, natives of Adoor Ilamannur Marur, who were jailed under Kappa proceedings. Jeril met the accused Vishnu, Shyam, Suryalal and Chandralal when he was in Thrissur Viyyur Central Jail under Kappa proceedings. At the same time, Karthik was also in jail as an accused in another case.
After being released from jail, they stayed together at Suryalal’s house in Marur for several days. It is complained that after there was a dispute with each other over financial matters, the defendants inflicted deep wounds on Jeril’s outside, stomach and chest with a blade.
He was burned with coals of fire on his genitals and both thighs and was hit on the ear with an air pistol without a pellet. Later, the police investigation revealed that he was shot in the legs and ears by putting pellets in the pistol and beaten all over the body with an iron wire. The accused were not ready to take Jeril to the hospital, who was injured all over his body, and locked him in the room for five days.
Jeril, who escaped from here, sought treatment at Adoor General Hospital. Adoor police reached the hospital after the doctor informed about the beating. By that time, Jeril escaped from the hospital and went to Kannur, fearing the accused. On the instructions of District Police Chief V. Ajith, the police reached Kannur and recorded his detailed statement. The police found that the accused beat up the youth due to a financial dispute related to drugs.
There are cases related to the sale of narcotics, hashish oil and cannabis in Jeryl’s name. According to the police, about fifteen criminal cases are pending against Vishnu Vijayan, eight cases are pending against Shyam, and Karthik is accused in cases related to kidnapping and attempted murder. The investigation also revealed that the accused brutally beat the youth.
Due to their enmity with Suryalal and Chandralal, a group of people broke into their house in February last year and brutally beat up their mother Sujata and destroyed the entire house. In this incident, Sujata died after being seriously injured and around fourteen accused involved in the case were arrested by the Adoor police. The two persons, who were absconding in the attempted murder case registered at the Enath police station, were arrested when they reached their mother’s funeral. In this case, Kappa was subjected to measures even after he was in jail. The district police chief ordered a detailed investigation into the case.
