by time news

Kozhikode: Government Medical College Hospital has shifted patients to the 10-hour verandah for the examination of PG students. Twenty-five patients in the 10th ward were evacuated around 7 a.m. Thursday without any warning. There is only one pediatrician with the patients. There are only two trolleys in the ward. Even patients who have undergone surgery are lying here. Thus the patients who needed special care were replaced.

Some patients were taken to bed and taken to the verandah. The sitters changed everyone by helping each other. Residents said they did not even receive help from staff. An hour and a half ago, the staff nurse on the ward told the sitters that the patients had to be evacuated before 8 am. The staff nurse told the patient’s roommates that the patients had to be removed from the ward in the morning as the exams were being held on Thursday.

The patients were transferred back to the ward at 5 pm after the examination. This time the staff also came to the rescue. Many patients said it was very difficult as there was not even a fan on the veranda. Officials explained that there was only one examination hall in the Medical College Hospital and that the patients in the ward were transferred because the two examinations of the PG students came together.
