FERRARA, February 6, 2024 – Patrizia Laquidara is about to unveil “Flower,” a deeply personal album born from her novel I saw you yesterday, with the release of its first single, “No One Should Stay Outside,” today. The song, a collaboration with Giulia Mei, isn’t just a track; it’s a widening circle of voices, a testament to community and belonging.

Laquidara describes “No One Should Stay Outside” as a song that grew from her novel and evolved into a more expansive, choral form. It’s a song that encompasses the women of her family and extends outward to embrace “minor” peoples of the world, advocating for a community where no one is excluded. The decision to collaborate with Mei was intentional, a desire to share her voice and create a gesture of trust and connection.

Patrizia Laquidara is a Sicilian-born, Venice-based singer-songwriter and writer known for her boundary-pushing artistry. Her work blends songwriting, poetry, and sound research, earning critical acclaim and awards, including the Critics’ Award at the Sanremo Festival in 2003 and the Tenco 2011 plaque for her album The song of the anguana.
Her previous albums include Portuguese address, Tightrope walker (produced by Arto Lindsay and Patrick Dillett), and There is something here that concerns you, produced by Alfonso Santimone. She has also collaborated with Marco Paolini on theatrical performances and composed music for Giovanni Veronesi’s film Manual of love.
Laquidara’s literary work includes the novel I saw you yesterday (Neri Pozza), and a collection of her poems is forthcoming in 2026. “Flower,” artistically produced with Edoardo Piccolo, represents a continuation of her storytelling, weaving together roots and future, intimacy and openness.
