While the return of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby remains unconfirmed, the Oppenheimer star will serve as an executive producer for the new seasons. Production will be handled by Garrison Drama and Kudos, the companies behind successful series such as SAS Rogue Heroes and House of Guinness.
The new series will also introduce a fresh ensemble of actors, including Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, Bird’s), Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, Silo), Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo, all joining the cast in currently undisclosed roles. The film, set during World War II and directed by Tom Harper, who helmed the first season of the series, recently wrapped production after beginning in late September of last year. Netflix has announced the film is coming “soon,” but a firm release date has yet to be revealed.
