People need money to live, that much is clear. But when does something actually end up in the account? Whether pension, salary, child benefit, child allowance, care or housing benefit: these are the dates in April 2024.

• Child benefit and child allowance: Paid on 10 different days in April. The exact date depends on the final digit of the child benefit number. For example, for children with a number ending in 0, the payment will be made on April 4th and for those with a number ending in 9, on April 22nd. All other dates are in between.
• Maintenance advance: The payment is made in advance and was already scheduled for April 28th.
• Citizen’s money: Citizens’ money is also paid out in advance and should therefore be available on the first day of the month. The payment date for April was also March 28th.
• Care allowance: For the coming month it will be paid in advance – that is, the payment for April took place on March 28th.
• Basic security in old age and reduced earning capacity: This benefit is also paid out in advance – so for April that was on March 28th.
• Housing benefit: The specified payday is the last banking day of the previous month, which means that the payout for April should also have taken place on March 28th. This way you should be able to pay the rent for the current month.
• Unemployment benefit: This is usually paid out at the end of the month for which it was approved. The unemployment benefit for April will therefore not be transferred until May 2nd, the money for March on April 2nd.
• Interest: Most pensions are paid in arrears. Therefore, the pension for April is mostly paid out on the last working day of the month – April 30th.
• Wage salary: They are also usually paid out at the end of the month – probably around April 30th, depending on the employer.
