He announced it this Tuesday in the columns of Le Parisien – Today in France: the Liot group was going to file a bill (PPL) to repeal the pension reform. This is today done. The text made public on Thursday draws up an indictment against the way used by the government to lead the debate. “The reform was promulgated without the text having been submitted to a vote in the National Assembly, and this, despite the commitments of the Government” is it written.
With this PPL, Bertrand Pancher, president of the Liot group in the Assembly, wishes to “go to the end of the democratic journey”. A progress thwarted by the “choice of the Government to carry out this reform via a draft law on the amending financing of social security and to resort to article 47-1” which limits the duration of the debates. And by “recourse to article 49 paragraph 3”. Two procedures which prevented “the holding of a clear and sincere debate”.
The text has two articles. The first removes the postponement of the retirement age to 64: it repeals the famous article 7 and cancels the acceleration of the increase in the contribution period. The second aims to organize “a financing conference to guarantee the sustainability of our pension system”. But also, “a real consultation on the subject of pensions in its entirety”.
This PPL will be supported by the 151 deputies of Nupes. The president of the socialist group Boris Vallaud thus welcomed the initiative: “See you on June 8 in the hemicycle, the fight continues” he tweeted. Same story on the side of the RN where, the deputy Sébastien Chenu has already said that he was ready to support “anything that can defeat this pension reform”.
But before the text is discussed in session, there remains a stage: the decision of the Constitutional Council on May 3 on the second request for a referendum of shared initiative (RIP). If it is validated by the judges, will Liot withdraw his text? Bertrand Pancher procrastinates: “we will advise on Wednesday 26 at our next group meeting. »
