Pep Guardiola: “I will not turn my chair”

Not quiet with the champion. A few days after the explosion of the serious financial affair involving Manchester City, the first reaction of the team manager Pep Guardiola also came.

As I recall, the Citizens are suspected of no less than 100 different criminal counts related to providing accurate financial information on all sponsorship income and not disclosing the true salary of the club’s executives. But there are those who rejected it outright.

As mentioned, Pep Guardiola addressed for the first time an affair that is stirring up European football, one that could lead to a reduction of points and even expulsion from the Premier League for City. “The club proved in the previous case against UEFA that it is fully entitled. Why don’t I think about it even now as long as there is no permission?”, Pep began.

The manager continued: “I am absolutely convinced that the club is entitled. Ever since Abu Dhabi took over the club, that has been the case. Between what the 19 Premier League clubs say and what the club people tell me, I trust my people.”

Guardiola attacked the claims of the Premier League clubs regarding City’s conduct: “They set a precedent. What they are doing to us, we have to be careful with it in the future. Many clubs can be convicted of these things.”

Later, Pep referred to his future at the Etihad Stadium: “I’m not vacating my seat, I want to stay. Now more than ever – I’m sure of that.”

On the first day of the week, Manchester City will host Aston Villa, while before that they will hope for Arsenal’s stumble against Brentford on Saturday. At this point, the gap between the two stands at 5 points in favor of the Gunners, with Guardiola’s team playing in excess.
