A special, “On The Red Carpet Presents: Percy Jackson,” offers an exclusive look behind the scenes with stars Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Daniel Diemer (Tyson), and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse). The cast emphasized that this season marks a turning point for their characters.
“This is the first time that you see [Percy] really just take matters into his own hands and go and, you know, kind of go on his own journey in a way,” Scobell explained. Simhadri echoed this sentiment, noting that Grover will be “alone for the very first time, which is kind of a unique dynamic for him. He’s never really been alone.”
The production also delved into the technical aspects of bringing the story to life, featuring insights from the VFX and stunts departments, and a peek inside the prop house – where fans might uncover a interesting detail about Percy’s iconic sword, Riptide.
A Chariot Race and New Characters
Jeffries described the emotional impact of stepping onto the set of the highly anticipated chariot race scene, stating, “If I wasn’t Annabeth, and I was like a fan watching the show and I walked onto the set, I literally would’ve cried.” A sneak peek of this scene is available in the Season 2 teaser.
season 2 introduces new faces to the cast, including Daniel Diemer as Tyson, the cyclops. Diemer shared that portraying Tyson was a particularly moving experience, stating, “To kind of see it within the world and kind of getting all the emotion through was really special.”

Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse, didn’t hesitate to identify the season’s primary antagonist. “Okay, clock it.Luke is a villain. We have to settle this now. I know we have the Luke loyalists. I love my Luke loyalists; however, let’s get serious. He’s coming after Percy!” she declared.

Riordan revealed the inspiration for their latest novel,”The Court of the Dead,” began with “a joke about where the Minotaur gets his underwear.”
Actors Levi Chrisopolus (Nico) and Olive Abercrombie (Bianca) discussed the weight of portraying these beloved characters. “So many people love it and have grown up with it and the characters, so you want to do justice,” Chrisopolus noted, while Abercrombie expressed feeling promptly welcomed into the cast.
