The chairman of the Tennis Association, Avi Peretz, today (Wednesday) filed an official complaint in the Yarkon area of the Israel Police, following the pedophilia case that was exposed in ONE, in which a minor tennis player claims that she was sexually harassed by her coach. The investigation into the case will move from the Yarkon area to the Givatayim police.
Following the public and media pressure, the chairman of the union realized that there was no escape from entering the thick of the matter, so he turned to the police. Until the moment Peretz filed the complaint, the union, which failed to end the affair, contented itself with sending a letter on the subject of sexual harassment by Adi Yorman, project manager at the Tennis Association, and by a commissioner on behalf of the Association for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment. She noted that the letter was sent “following the increase in awareness of sexual harassment in sports as part of a global trend”.
Recall, as revealed on ONE, the minor tennis player spoke candidly about the sexual harassment she experienced and wrote in a simply chilling testimony: “It’s a difficult subject for me but I decided to share”, in addition the actress claims the coach allegedly hugged her and touched her body when she was 12 years old.
“I trusted him and I had a very strong trust with him. One day after training with him, he said he would drive me, but we took a short break to eat a sandwich at home. I was about 12 and a half years old, he was my coach from the age of 5. I always thought of him as a father Second for me, because my parents are divorced and my dad was not with me all the time, so he filled the place. When we talked about training then he started hugging me and touching certain places that are not normal places. Then he lay and told me to lie on it. “It’s a hug, but then he started acting and letting his hands travel on my body like nothing.”
