Perisic Pursuit: Inter Milan Attempting to Lure Veteran Winger Back to Italy

A potential return to Inter Milan is on the cards for Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, with his representatives currently in discussions with the Italian club. Despite resistance from his current team, PSV, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that the move is not entirely off the table.
Inter’s Interest and PSV’s Stance
Inter Milan has expressed a clear interest in re-acquiring Perisic, according to reports from Eindhovens Dagblad on Thursday. However, PSV is reportedly unwilling to release the experienced player, and would demand a substantial fee – described as “gigantic” – should Inter pursue the transfer further.
Champions League Qualification Key to Potential Deal
Romano believes a change in circumstances could unlock the deal. “Perisic would like to return to Inter,” he stated on his Italian YouTube channel. “His agents will be in Milan in the coming days, but PSV is not open to a transfer at the moment.” He further indicated that Inter’s progression in the Champions League could be a pivotal factor. “After the last two Champions League games, Inter can try again. PSV still does not want to let him go, but Inter does not have to pay a large amount,” Romano explained.
A Shift in Role for the Croatian International
Should Perisic make the move back to Milan, he would likely accept a different role within the team. While currently a key player for PSV, he would transition to a more supportive position at Inter. “The relationship between the player and the club remains good, but this transfer is not up to Perisic or his agents. It is entirely up to PSV,” Romano concluded, emphasizing the Dutch club’s control over the situation.
