The multiple medalist in mogul skiing has announced that she will skip the World Cup this winter, to better prepare for the next events.

As the Women’s Mogul Skiing World Cup begins on December 3, Perrine Lafont officially announced, through a press release, that she is skipping the 2023-2024 edition: “ After a very big 22/23 season, and just before the next World Championships (2025) and the next Olympic Games (2026), Perrine Laffont decides to take a break from competition for a few months ».

The 2023 world champion in Single and Parallel gave different reasons, including: “to refine their preparation by putting in place significant athletic and mental in-depth work. Maintaining freshness, desire and working to continue to surprise and get ahead of your opponents are his objectives.»

Objectives: World Cup 2025 and Olympic Games 2026

After the great disappointment of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2022, marked by a fourth place for the 2018 Olympic champion, Perrine Laffont had already felt the need to take a breather. This break aims to allow him to come back motivated for the 2025 World Cup but also for the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Returning to her best level during the 2022-2023 season, the native of the Pyrenees has also made a name for herself outside the ski slopes. In the documentary Blast recently released by Prime Video, she opened up about the depression she suffered as a high-level athlete.
