Following his departure in 2005, Bamonte continued to pursue his passion for music, collaborating with the british rock group Love Amongst Ruin, fronted by steve Hewitt of Placebo. His contributions to music were formally recognized in 2019 when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame as a member of The Cure.
In 2022, Bamonte made a celebrated return to The Cure, reigniting his musical partnership with Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, and Jason Cooper.He participated in approximately 90 concerts over the following two years, culminating in a highly acclaimed final performance, “Show Of A Lost World,” in London on November 12, 2024. According to the band, “Some of these shows were among the best in the group’s history.”
