State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the price of fuel oil will decrease this month. He gave this information while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Sunday (March 3).
Stating that the price of fuel oil will be announced for the first time in the country in the new formula, the state minister said, ‘It will start from the first week of March, now the Prime Minister’s approval is awaited. We want pricing adjustments every month. Hopefully, if we can start the pricing adjustment this month, it will save some fuel oil prices.’
He further said, ‘If next time we see fuel prices in the world market getting a bit more affordable… then there will be price adjustment. So, there’s a good side to it.’
When the journalists asked about which oil price can decrease the most, the state minister said, ‘Our main target is diesel, which is used more. It is used in our irrigation, it is used in our transports, it is used in trucks, it is used in buses. We want the public to benefit from this.’
The state minister expressed hope that all types of transport fares including public transport will decrease if the price of fuel oil decreases. He said, ‘If the price ever rises in the world market, then there will be an adjustment. That’s how we want it.’
