Last year’s NBA MVP Joel Embiid will be back in action very soon. This was announced by his coach in “Philadelphia” Nick Nurse.

Embiid, the reigning MVP, is recovering from meniscus surgery. He missed 27 straight games after suffering an injury against the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 30. The intervention was made on February 6.

Before his injury, Embiid was the No. 1 favorite for a second consecutive MVP award, averaging 35.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, and with him in the lineup, Philadelphia had 24 wins and just six losses.

“Joel is in the training room but we still don’t know when he’ll be able to play. I think he’s feeling better every day. He’s trying to get stronger and more confident as well as getting into the necessary form. I can’t say yet when he will play, but I think the possibility of it happening before the end of the regular season is high,” Nurse explained.

“Philadelphia” has nine more games before the start of the playoffs. At the moment, the team is eighth in the East with 39 wins and 34 losses and is in a position to participate in the play-in tournament.
