The Hague: Philips is set to lay off 6,000 people worldwide in the field of medical equipment manufacturing. Company CEO Roy Jacobs said this is to reduce the number of employees by 2025. Three months ago, the company had laid off 4,000 people.

2022 was a tough year for the company and its shareholders. The CEO also says that this step is to improve the duty immediately. The company posted a loss of 10.5 crore euros in the fourth quarter last year. It is reported that there was a total loss of 160 crores last year.

The Amsterdam-based company had to recall their respirator in 2021 after a manufacturing defect.
