Tragedy Strikes Phoenix Holiday Gathering with Christmas Eve Murder-Suicide

PHOENIX – A holiday gathering turned deadly on Christmas Eve in Phoenix, as police say a man shot and killed two women before taking his own life.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting at a home near Central Avenue and Bethany Home Road just before 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. Upon arrival, officers found three people with gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were taken to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries, while the third victim died at the scene.

Authorities have identified the three individuals involved in the incident as 83-year-old Cynthia Domini, 47-year-old Maryalice Cash, and 47-year-old David De Nitto. De Nitto, the widower of former Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel, is said to have been in a relationship with Cash, one of the victims.

The shooting occurred during a holiday gathering at the home, and an altercation is believed to have preceded the gunfire. Details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.

Rachel Mitchell, the current Maricopa County Attorney, expressed the community’s sorrow and urged support and privacy for the affected families and Adel’s children.
