A photo of Pierce Brosnan posing at Mammoth Terraces has resurfaced as the actor faces a court date for allegedly wandering into a protected area at Yellowstone National Park. The James Bond star, 70, allegedly walked into the delicate and dangerous Mammoth Terraces hot spring tiers and could be seen striking a pose in an image uploaded to the Instagram page called @touronsofyellowstone.

While the post does not tag or reference Brosnan, the actor could be seen wearing a near-identical ensemble in snaps that he had shared to his own Instagram account on November 1 during a visit to Montana. The resurfaced photo comes after Brosnan was slapped with a court date in Wyoming for allegedly wandering into the protected hot springs at Yellowstone National Park.

He has been cited twice over the alleged violations on November 1, and is scheduled to appear in court on January 23. Brosnan has been charged with Foot Travel in a Thermal Area and Closure Violation, according to court documents filed on Tuesday. He is due to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick next month.

The Mammoth Terraces are a popular feature in Yellowstone, constantly changing in color and activity. Federal rules stipulate that visitors to national parks must stay on the designated walkways, and venturing off the boardwalk is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.

Brosnan is just the latest tourist to try to bend the rules at the stunning park. At least 22 people have died from burns sustained in Yellowstone’s springs and geysers. In 2021, a Connecticut woman was jailed for seven days, fined $2,000 and banned from Yellowstone for two years for leaving the walkway and approaching the thermals. In June, shocking video emerged of a couple ignoring warnings as they attempted to touch 175-degree geysers elsewhere in the park.

The clip was shared on TouronsofYellowstone’s Instagram page, which also regularly documents abuses and poor behavior in the park. DailyMail.com has contacted Brosnan’s representatives and Yellowstone Park Rangers for comment.
