A man started the fire in the house on Roudná on purpose. The flames spread quickly, practically destroying the building. “The house was evacuated, fortunately no one was seriously injured,” said police spokeswoman Michaela Raindlová. However, during the intervention, they fell through the ceiling and slightly injured two firefighters. Damage exceeded half a million crowns.
But that wasn’t enough for the arsonist. “He started other fires at the beginning of September, when he intentionally set fire to waste in a container and the front doors of several buildings,” added Raindlová. Fortunately, the damage was “only” in the tens of thousands of crowns.
The Pilsen police managed to find and arrest the man. “Subsequently he confessed to all the deeds,” Raindl added. He will wait for the trial in custody. He faces up to eight years in prison.
