‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor Sergio Calderon dies aged 77

SErgio Calderón, actor of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Men in Black’, passed away this Wednesday, May 31, in Los Angeles. He was 77 years old.

The family confirmed the passing through a statement, revealing that Calderón died of natural causes.

A few days before his death, the artist gave an interview to the Los Angeles Times, in which he spoke about his career and admitted that he loved playing villains.

“I love playing these characters, because people really hate me. They tell me on the street how much they hate me. But for me, that’s success. It means I managed to convince people with my performance”, he said.

Calderón was born in Mexico and moved to Mexico City at the age of 10, where he began his journey into acting.

One of his best-known roles was as Captain Vallenueva in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ (2007).
