We should not race in the lead from the start this Thursday, at Vincennes, if we hoped to have a chance of winning. Three of the favorites for this event, Charmy Charly AS (n°1), Inshot Josselyn (n°6) and Castor The Star (n°7) had taken control of the race from the first meters, but in the end they did not even make it not part of today’s quinté. Well hidden in the peloton for the majority of the course, it was ultimately Gericault (n°14), driven by the Belgian Christophe Martens and coached by his brother Vincent, who won at the end of a splendid final straight.
This event, contested on the Vincennes racecourse, was particularly fast-paced. Protected for a large part of the race, Illusion Jipad (n°9), Canto Dei Venti (n°16), Iguski Sautonne (n°10) and Ies We Kan (n°4) managed to make the difference in the last hectometers to complete the good combination of the day.
Upon arrival, Christophe Martens, the victorious driver this Thursday, could only be satisfied. “The sooner things went, the better,” he declared on Equidia.
