Just a few weeks ago, Xiaomi presented its new POCO F4 GT to the world, a real ‘beast’ aimed at the most demanding of mobile users, the ‘gamers’, an audience that is not satisfied with anything and that demands the most high performance. And now it’s the turn of the rest of the family F4, destined this time to the rest of the mortals. POCO, let’s not forget, is a brand of Xiaomiand the Chinese giant’s strategy involves ‘exporting’ some of its terminals under the umbrella of some other of its business labels.

The serie F, therefore, encompasses POCO’s high-end terminals. Last year POCO F3 had a very good reception in the market, bringing the highest performance in screen, battery and cameras at a more than reasonable price.

And now, along the same lines, the new POCO F4 arrives, with important new features, from performance to photography. The chosen processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, an 8 core with up to 3.2GHz and built with 7 nanometer technology. Of course, it includes 5G connectivity. It is, however, the same processor as the previous model, something that many will not like, but the firm justifies it by saying that it is still one of the best chips on the market, especially when it comes to managing the battery.

To get the most out of it, POCO has included LiquidCool Technology 2.0, an exclusive cooling system that the brand already uses in all its terminals and that, in its new version, occupies up to 400% more space in the terminal, which guarantees that won’t get hot even if we spend whole hours using it intensively. Less heating, better performance.

As for the battery, POCO wants to repeat the success of the one carried by the previous F3, which last year was chosen by Gsmarena as the most durable on the market, and has installed a 4,500 milliamp battery, somewhat larger than that of the previous version. and that allows two days in a row of moderate use. What has changed is the fast charge, which has gone from 33 W of the F3 to 67 W of the new F4. The terminal only takes 38 minutes to charge 100%, 14 minutes less than the previous F3.

All this in a slim terminal, 7.7 mm (POCO’s thinnest so far), and moderately light, 195 g. The new device, finished in glass, will arrive on June 27 in several colors: black (Night Black), silver (Moonlight Silver), and green (Nebula Green), without a doubt the most original of all.

the screen is 6.67-inch AMOLED, with a small hole in the center of the top for the front camera of just 2.76 mm, one of the smallest in the industry. The screen arrives with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz, which ensures a very good fluidity, without jumps or interruptions. The brightness rate stands out, which is 1,300 nits, with a contrast of 5,000,000: 1, with support for True Color, HDR10 + and Dolby Vision certification.

The sound is provided by two speakers, at the top and bottom of the terminal, certified by Dolby Atmos.

OIS comes to POCO cameras

A very good screen, then, and that needs a set of cameras that is up to the task. Something that, to be honest, POCO had not achieved until now. The intention, however, seems to be to remedy this weakness, and this time we have the best configuration even presented by the company: a 64-megapixel main sensor, with 1.4-nanometer pixels and Quad Pixel technology, which It combines four in one, an f/1.79 aperture and, finally, an OIS stabilizer, the first we can see in a POCO terminal. It is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle capable of capturing up to 119 degrees and a two megapixel macro camera.

Cameras are AI assisted to remove flaws and improve definition and contours, especially in night mode. In the video section, we can make films in 4K quality, and we have functions such as slow motion, dual video, macro video or cinematographic filters. The front camera includes the panoramic selfie function No surprise, although the performance will have to be verified in the tests.

The price, in the version with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, is 399 euros, half that of any top of the range of any other brand. If we prefer the 8 GB + 256 version, the price goes up to 449 euros.

POCO X4 GT, mid-range with features

POCO also presented its new mid-range terminals, encompassed in the so-called X series. The last phone in this family, the POCO X4 Pro 5G, arrived last February, and was a true ‘all-rounder’ with a 108-megapixel camera , 120 Hz refresh rate, 5G, 67 W fast charge… And now, more speed is added to all that.

It’s called POCO X4 GT, it’s geared towards gaming and it’s proud to be the first to introduce the new Mediatek Dimensity 8100 processor, one of the most anticipated chips of the year. Built on 5 nanometer technology, it features four high-performance Cortex A78 cores and four Cortex A55 cores. The maximum clock speed is 2.85 Ghz and is up to three times faster than the version from just a year ago. It is also capable of much better battery management, something that Liquid Cool 2.0 liquid cooling technology helps.

The new X4 GT is the ‘brother’ in the mid-range of the POCO F4 GT, which it almost equals in performance. The screen, DotDisplay, is 6.6 inches, reproduces a billion colors and reduces blue wavelengths, the most harmful to eyesight, by up to 30%. The screen has a refresh rate of 144 Hz, the fastest of POCO so far, which results in lower latency and much better fluidity on the screen, especially in games.

According to POCO, this is the best LCD screen on the market.

And we come to the battery, which is 5,080 milliamps, with a 67 W fast charging system, capable of filling it completely in 46 minutes. In 15 minutes we can have a 50% charge of the battery, something very convenient for the most gamers.

The terminal, which is already available, comes in black, silver and blue. And yes, it includes a headphone jack. The speakers support Dolby Atmos. As for cameras, we find a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 2-megapixel macro camera, practically the same configuration as in the high-end Poco F4, although without OIS stabilization.

The price of the new POCO X4 GT, in the 8 GB + 128 GB version, is 379 euros. If we choose to have 256 GB for storage, the price goes up to 429 euros
