The leak of marketing materials for Poco’s upcoming X8 and X8 Power smartphones has confirmed key specifications and a projected India launch timeline. Both devices are set to arrive by early September, with the X8 Power distinguished by a 10,000 mAh battery and 100W wired charging, according to sources Gsmarena and Gadgets 360. The leak reportedly originated from a tipster on X, with additional details shared by tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) and Sanju Choudhary (@saaaanjjjuuu), who emphasized that the X8 and X8 Power could be the brand’s final smartphone launches of 2026 before the F series begins in 2027.

Specs and Software: A Shared Foundation with Minor Variations

Both the Poco X8 and X8 Power share core hardware elements, including a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 3,500 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The X8 appears to be a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro, while the X8 Power may be a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, according to the leaked materials. The X8 features a 9,000 mAh battery with 67W charging, while the X8 Power ups the ante with a 10,000 mAh battery and 100W wired charging, alongside 27W reverse charging.

The X8 Power’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset contrasts with the X8’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The X8 Power also includes a 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3,840Hz PWM dimming, while the X8 uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel. Both models include IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. The X8 Power’s 8.68mm thickness and 25 percent screen coverage further differentiate it Gadgets 360.

Camera Configurations and Pricing: Diverging Details

Camera setups differ slightly between the two models. The X8 Power includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera, while the X8 is equipped with a 50-megapixel OIS main camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. Both models also feature Wet Touch 2.0 technology. The X8 Power’s AnTuTu score is reported to exceed 1.15 million, compared to the X8’s score around 830,000. Pricing details indicate that both the Poco X8 and X8 Power will be positioned below the Poco X8 Pro. At launch, the existing Poco X8 Pro 5G price in India started at Rs. 32,999, while the Poco X8 Pro Max 5G began at Rs. 42,999. Poco launched the M8x handset in the country on Friday at Rs. 20,999 for the base 4GB + 128GB model Gadgets 360.

Launch Timeline and Market Positioning

Poco’s upcoming launches align with expectations, with the X8 and X8 Power expected to arrive later this year. The F series will kick off its 2027 smartphone launches, suggesting the X8 and X8 Power could be the brand’s final smartphone launches of 2026.
