Within the framework of ‘operation Agamemnon’ led by the Public Force, invisible drug traffickers are being tracked, individuals who operate anonymously to evade the authorities, of which 20 have an extradition order.
The director of the National Police, General William René Salamanca Ramírez, informed a United States Congressional delegation about these findings during his visit. He indicated that most of these invisible drug traffickers are already in custodywhile the institution’s researchers work on the identification of another 170 people with similar criminal profiles operating in the national territory.
General Salamanca shared the main results of operation ‘Agamemnon’ and other actions against drug trafficking. Furthermore, he announced the training of 150 uniformed personnel and 80 dogs trained in drug detectionespecially to address trafficking in Fentanyl and associated substances.
The high police command highlighted the effectiveness of the Government’s Drug Policy and the need to continue coordinating efforts with the United States authorities to combat drug trafficking and consumption.

The delegation of US congressmen praised the work of the Colombian Police against drug trafficking, especially the actions against the structure of the Clan del Golfo, whose top leader, alias ‘Chiquito Malo’, is being persecuted by the Colombian authorities.
The meeting was attended by four senior advisers to Democratic and Republican congressmen, as well as representatives of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), including Eugenio Crouch, head of that entity for the Andean Region.
The main objective of the meeting was to learn first-hand about the anti-drug policy of the Colombian government and its collaboration with international agencies to strengthen the fight against drug trafficking, in addition to addressing the phenomenon of smuggling and other organized crime activities.
