Baghdad – WAA
Today, Monday, the Saudi Al-Shorta and Al-Nasr teams tied with one goal each in the match that was hosted by the International City Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs.

Al-Nasr team scored first through Sultan Al-Ghannam in the 13th minute, while Mohammed Dawood equalized for Al-Shorta in the 23rd minute.
Al-Shorta’s defence was able to close all the outlets for Al-Nasr’s attackers, Sadio Mane and Talisca Villa. Al-Shorta relied on counterattacks and long balls behind the defenders, one of which almost put Mohamed Dawood alone with the goalkeeper, had he not been obstructed outside the penalty area by the Al-Nasr defender, so the two teams settled for a draw at the half-time break.
In the second half, Al-Nasr dominated the match after the physical factor of the police players declined, but all attempts were stopped by the Iraqi defense except for the powerful shot by Talisca, while goalkeeper Ahmed Basil succeeded in saving his goal from a dangerous ball.
The coaches of both teams tried to use substitutes to change the result without any change in the performance or style except for the powerful shot by Al-Shorta striker Muhannad Ali (Mimi) which was saved by goalkeeper Pinto, after which the Kuwaiti referee’s whistle announced the end of the match with a 1-1 draw.
