Augustin Come back

Augustin Kabuya officially launched his information mission this Thursday, February 15, with a view to identifying the majority in the National Assembly to form the government. A week after his appointment, the informant presented to the press the essential elements of his mission which should last in principle one month, with the possibility of renewal.

The national deputy elected from Mont-Amba in Kinshasa indicated in particular that before being part of the majority coalition which will be maneuvering for the exit of the government, acts of commitment will be required in order to certify membership in the majority.

“Members of the majority coalition will have to sign acts of collective commitment for the parties and groups concerned and individual, by parliamentary majority. To this end, participating parties and groups must only act through people with the qualifications to engage them,” said Augustin Kabuya.

Unsurprisingly, no party or political group obtained a parliamentary majority following the December 2023 elections. The informant will carry out his mission in the lower house of parliament which currently has 477 deputies, he must contact the various political forces to achieve the goal.
