Düsseldorf family entrepreneur Stefan Messer is finally demanding unity from the federal government and a clear strategy for solving the country’s central economic problems. In an interview with the Handelsblatt, the chairman of the supervisory board of the industrial gases manufacturer Messer complained that many decisions were incomprehensible patchwork and horribly flawed in terms of craftsmanship.
The needs of German companies are not really clear to the federal government. “This is also due to the fact that many politicians are in power with little experience. I observe a practical distance to the economy and its mechanisms of action,” says Messer. As the largest privately run industrial gases supplier in the world, Messer has insight into the situation in many sectors and regions of the world.
