Former Venezuelan Intelligence Chief Alleges Regime Used Cocaine as Weapon Against US

A stunning letter from Hugo Carvajal Barrios, a former director of Venezuelan Military Intelligence, details accusations of deliberate drug trafficking and espionage orchestrated by the governments of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro against the United States. The explosive claims, obtained by The Dallas Express, paint a picture of a regime actively weaponizing criminal networks and infiltrating US institutions for decades.

The letter, addressed to former President Donald Trump, begins with a declaration of intent: “I write to atone for my sins by telling the whole truth, so that America can protect itself from the dangers I witnessed for so many years.” Carvajal, known as “El Pollo,” asserts that the Maduro government leveraged cocaine as a tool of coercion and maintained collaborative relationships with groups including the FARC, the ELN, Cuban intelligence services, and Hezbollah.

A Criminal Enterprise at the Heart of the Venezuelan Government

According to the former general, the Chávez administration systematically transformed itself into a criminal organization, a structure now allegedly directed by Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello, along with other high-ranking officials. He claims Chávez actively recruited criminal leaders – both inside and outside Venezuelan prisons – offering them impunity in exchange for defending the “revolution.”

“Chávez ordered the recruitment of criminal leaders inside and outside prisons to defend the revolution in exchange for impunity,” the letter states. This policy, Carvajal alleges, laid the foundation for the expansion of violent criminal networks like the Aragua Train, which has since gained notoriety for its reach and brutality.

Exploiting US Border Policies for Infiltration

The letter further alleges that the current Venezuelan regime exploited changes in US border policy to deploy operatives within the country. According to the text, the implementation of the Biden-Harris administration’s open borders policy provided an opportunity to send “agents” to the United States. “Now they have obedient and armed personnel on US soil,” a senior official stated.

Decades of Espionage and Intelligence Operations

Carvajal’s accusations extend beyond drug trafficking and criminal networks, detailing a twenty-year effort by Venezuelan and Cuban intelligence agencies to infiltrate various US institutions, including those with military significance. This operation, referred to as “the Poster of the Suns,” allegedly aimed to undermine US national security.

“The purpose of this organization… is using drugs as a weapon against the United States,” Carvajal wrote. He insists that the flow of narcotics into the US was not a result of corruption or independent traffickers, but rather a deliberate strategy coordinated by the Venezuelan regime.

Furthermore, Carvajal claims that even members of the Venezuelan opposition are being utilized as spies. “For twenty years, the Venezuelan regime sent spies to their country; many are still there, some disguised as members of the Venezuelan opposition,” he asserted.

A Confession from Behind Bars

Carvajal, currently awaiting sentencing in the United States, presents his letter as a form of atonement. His claims, if verified, represent a significant indictment of the Venezuelan regime and raise serious questions about the extent of its malign influence within the US. The implications of these allegations demand thorough investigation and a reassessment of US policy toward Venezuela.
