The police have registered a POCSO case against Ammanavar in connection with a video of a polytechnic student tying a thali to a schoolgirl in Chidambaram and sent him to Cuddalore Children’s Care Home.

A few days ago, a video of a polytechnic student tying a thali to a schoolgirl at Nizhalkudai near Chidambaram bus stand in Cuddalore district went viral on social media. The Chidambaram City Police Department was conducting an investigation in this regard. In this case, Cuddalore District Social Welfare Department officials filed a complaint at Chidambaram Police Station.

Following this, both the private polytechnic student and the government school girl were taken to the Chidambaram city police station. Social welfare officials and police investigated them separately. After this, the social welfare department officials took the student to their office for counseling.

After interrogating the boy, who is a polytechnic student, the police sent him with his parents and sent him a letter asking him to appear again without registering any case. Subsequently, the student’s mother filed a complaint against Balaji Ganesh, who had posted the incident on Facebook, at the Killai police station. The police registered a case under the Prevention of Atrocities Act and arrested him.

Balaji Ganesh, who was ill at that time, was admitted to the hospital and then produced before the Cuddalore court and imprisoned. In this case, the police again brought the student to the police station for questioning. Following this, the Chidambaram city police registered a case under the Child Marriage Act against the boy, who was a student, and arrested him on the basis of a complaint filed by Chitra, Keerapalayam Panchayat Union Village Welfare Officer.

In this case, the police have registered a case under the Prevention of Sexual Violence against Children Act and produced the boy in the Cuddalore court. The judge heard the case and ordered the child to be taken to the Cuddalore Children’s Home. The boy was then sent to the observation home.
