Birmingham City Football Club has selected Populous to spearhead the development of its new training centre, a cornerstone of the upcoming Birmingham Sports Quarter. The project, initiated following a competitive tender process overseen by owners Knighthead Capital Management, will consolidate the Men’s, Women’s, and Academy teams onto a single, integrated campus.
The new complex, strategically located adjacent to the main stadium, is designed to embody the club’s “street to elite” philosophy. Populous will oversee the design of a comprehensive facility encompassing gyms, medical and recovery areas, administrative spaces, and a full suite of training pitches and groundskeeping resources. This investment aims to provide consistent, high-level support for players at all levels of the organization.

In a move to maximize commercial opportunities, Newcastle United have engaged agency Blueprintx to develop brand partnerships for defender Dan Burn. This collaboration will see Blueprintx work closely with the club’s newly formed player image rights team to identify and secure endorsements that align with Burn’s personal brand and values.
