The Boavista player signed with Lille this Tuesday for four years.
Portuguese international hopeful Tiago Morais, 20, has signed with Lille for four and a half years, until 2028, from Boavista, LOSC announced on Tuesday. A versatile attacker capable of playing on the wings as well as in the center, the young Portuguese is the northern club’s first recruit during the winter transfer window.
He should mainly be used as a left winger, a position which the Mastiffs have made their priority, Ivan Cavaleiro having failed to establish himself as a starter since his arrival last summer, before recently having surgery for pubalgia.
“We are very happy with the signing of Tiago. He is a player that we particularly followed. He demonstrated with his training club very good qualities as a passer and scorer. While he still has very significant room for improvement, he will immediately bring his qualities and a different and complementary profile to our squad”estimated club president Olivier Létang, quoted in the LOSC press release.
During the first part of the 2023-2024 season played with the Portuguese club Boavista, Morais played 20 matches in all competitions (6 goals, 5 assists).
He is the youngest scorer in Boavista history thanks to a double scored against Portimonense in August 2021 in the League Cup when he was not yet 18 years old.
