POS: 380,000 emails have been sent by AADE – No additional extension 2024-03-05 11:05:45

by time news

More than 380,000 newsletters were sent by AADE to businesses that have a cash register and upgraded POS. The messages invite businesses to immediately contact the installation technician and connect the POS with the cash registers.

It is recalled that in order for this interconnection project to be completed without technical problems, an extension of one month was given, i.e. until March 31, 2024. During this time, the debtors should get in touch with the authorized cash register installation technicians in order to complete the process.

It is noted that this extension can be extended for an additional month, i.e. until April 30, 2024:

A) for those businesses that were unable to find an available appointment within March, but they have an appointment with an installer in April. Appointments should be announced on a special platform that will be put into operation by AADE on the second 15th of March.

B) for businesses that will declare in the POS Registry that they are going to replace their cash register system with one of the newly available all-in-one solutions that do not require additional interface actions. Already, two e-invoicing providers have been approved with such solutions and many more are expected very soon.

The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theocharis, said: “I believe it has now become absolutely clear that there will be no further extension for the interconnection of cash registers with POS. We have exhausted all the margins of flexibility – after all, the last extension given by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance was already marginal. I emphasize, once again, that after the end of April, no excuse will be valid and will not be accepted. Even from a technical point of view, the existing options immediately offer a solution. I mean that there are ‘2 in 1’ machines on the market, i.e. cash register and POS in the same device, while the suppliers are sufficient to meet the needs of the Greek market. I recommend that every professional immediately rush to make an appointment to upgrade the billing system they use in their business. The cashier-POS interface is state law and will be enforced, no matter what. Therefore, not a single day should be wasted in this effort to modernize and consolidate tax justice.”

Fines for cash registers and POS

Finally, it is underlined that it was decided not to grant a longer extension for 3 reasons: firstly, because it has been established in many cases that the first period of long overtimes goes unexploited with a relaxation of the rhythms. Second, because almost all of the base work (upgrades, etc.) has now been completed and that at the pace already achieved in the last few days the project will be completed on schedule. And thirdly, because the interconnection of POS with cash registers is included in the Recovery Fund, as a milestone project, which means that any delay in the completion of the project may lead to a partial interruption of the country’s funding from Brussels.
