Kochi: The High Court will today reconsider the anticipatory bail petition filed by actor and producer Vijay Babu in a rape case. Vijay Babu, who is abroad, was not allowed to return home by the court yesterday. The government has told the court that the arrest of Vijay Babu, who absconded from the law, is inevitable.
Meanwhile, the complainant has also asked the court not to grant anticipatory bail to Vijay Babu. Justice P Gopinath yesterday granted anticipatory bail after submitting travel documents stating that he would return home on the 30th. The court also warned that his bail application would be rejected if he did not return by the 30th of this month. Meanwhile, Vijay Babu told the court that he was friends with the complainant actress and had consensual sex with her.

Vijay Babu told the court yesterday that he had consensual sex with the complainant. Vijay Babu has also produced copies of WhatsApp chats with the actress in court. According to Vijay Babu, he had paid the complainant several times and came to the scene with a rape complaint after he refused the demand for more opportunities in the film. He was allegedly assaulted on March 16 at De Holmes Suites apartment and on March 22 at the Olive Downtown Hotel.
