Potsdam / Munich – Huge rush for spontaneous vaccinations without an appointment! Hundreds of Potsdam residents stood in line for the booster syringe on Friday, not wanting to wait for a doctor’s appointment. And it doesn’t look any better in Bavaria either.
The queue of those willing to be vaccinated measures more than 300 meters. From the center of the Potsdam market center through the corridors to far outside. Waiting time: three hours. Numbers are distributed so that nobody has to freeze. You can come back with it later.
► Uwe Möschner (73) came first at 9 a.m., three hours before the start. “For the booster vaccination,” he says, “I would have to wait at the family doctor until mid-December.”
► Anika Rösler (44, severely disabled): “My doctor takes the older ones first, even though my vaccination was seven months ago.”
There are no more vaccination centers like in Berlin in Brandenburg.
“The state government failed here,” complains Rewe dealer Siegfried Grube (82), who organized the spontaneous vaccination with the city. “The ministers have no idea how great the demand is.”
Consequences of government failure: Only 5.9 percent of Brandenburgers over 60 have the third spade. In Berlin it is already 20.3 percent.
The infection numbers are exploding: The incidence in Brandenburg rose from 285 to 323 on Friday, 7 Covid patients died.
Vaccination numbers grow with fear. But the 2G obligation is also a reason.
► “I don’t want to sit at home alone in my free time,” says Leonard Kuhlmey (17), “I can only go to the cinema and concert with friends if I have been vaccinated.”
In Berlin, therefore, 2,600 people were vaccinated from Monday to Wednesday. A fortnight ago it was only 1,500 a week. With a second syringe and booster 16,000 pikes a day.
In the state of Brandenburg there were only 11,500 – because there are no vaccination centers. It will not be vaccinated again spontaneously until next Thursday in Potsdam.
There are queues in front of the vaccination centers in Bavaria
And the situation in Bavaria doesn’t look any better either. Long queues had already formed in front of the vaccination centers in Augsburg and Munich on Friday. Those willing to vaccinate had to expect long waiting times, reports the WORLD.
The high demand for the third spade in Augsburg even led to the fact that the vaccination centers reached their limits in terms of personnel and material, and ultimately even sent citizens away without an appointment.
On Saturday morning, the city appealed to citizens not to visit the vaccination center without an appointment, because the capacities were exhausted.
Whether the situation improves in the coming week would depend on the delivery of the vaccine. Only then do you want to decide whether to increase staff further, the vaccination center informs on its Website.
In Munich, the vaccination centers are also struggling with the large number of people. Long queues had already formed on Friday in front of the vaccination centers at Marienplatz and Theresienwiese. The Bavarian capital also asks that you only come to the vaccination with a fixed appointment.
