Poxo case: Roy Violet and Saiju Thankachan remanded

Kochi: Saiju M. Thankachan, the second accused in the case of molesting a minor girl, has surrendered. Meanwhile, the first accused and the owner of Hotel No. 18, Roy J. Violet to Ernakulam Adv. Sessions Court remanded. Judge K Soman remanded the accused in custody after a meeting with doctors as he was admitted to the hospital due to his health condition. Roy, who was released late at night after completing his tests, was lodged in Kakkanad district jail. The police will file a custody application in court the next day to buy Roy into custody.

Seju surrendered at the Kalamassery metro police station during the search for Saiju. Saiju was taken to Hotel No. 18 by the District Crime Branch officials and evidence was taken. The two surrendered before the probe team in the next few days after the Supreme Court rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of Roy and his co-accused Saiju M Thankachan in the case.

Roy’s high blood pressure was reported by doctors when he was taken to a general hospital for a medical examination after being interrogated together. The doctors then advised him to be shifted to the emergency department.

Saiju was produced in court after completing his examination. He was remanded in custody for 2 days for further questioning. Anjali Reemadev, the third accused in the case, has been directed by the police to appear for questioning. Anjali will be questioned along with Saiju tomorrow. Only Anjali was granted anticipatory bail by the court.
