Shivamogga: Karnataka’s young player Prakar Chaturvedi talks about history in Cooch Behar Trophy cricket. The player scored 404 runs without getting out in the final match against Mumbai. Prakar Chaturvedi is the first player to score more than four hundred in the Cooch Behar Trophy cricket tournament. The player faced 638 balls and hit 46 boundaries. All three sixes were hit.

Prakar also made history of a 24-year-old record held by former India player Yuvraj Singh. Youngster Prakar surpassed Yuvraj Singh to record the highest score by a player in the tournament final. In December 1999, Yuvraj Singh scored 358 runs for Punjab in a match against Bihar.

Batting first, Mumbai scored 380 runs in the first innings. But Karnataka declared with 890 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Karnataka got a lead of 510 runs in the first innings. Karnataka star Harshil Dharmeni gave strong support to Prakar by scoring 169 runs. Karnataka batted for 223 overs in the final. Although the match was tied, Karnataka won the tournament on the strength of their first innings lead.
