Sevilla players celebrate (La Liga)
It was not easy for her, but Sevilla did their part tonight (Thursday) and defeated Levante 2: 3 from the bottom, as part of the 33rd round of the Spanish league. In other games, Rayo Vallecano recorded a small 0: 1 over Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao topped the list with 2: 3 away over Cadiz. The games, like all Spanish league games, were broadcast on Channel ONE for HOT subscribers, yes subscribers, Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
Levante – Sevilla 3: 2
The game opened with a storm and already in the 14th minute the visitors took the lead thanks to a goal by Jose Corona. The pace did not calm down and in the 22nd minute Jose Luis Morales Dyke from the penalty spot on the way to 1: 1, but five minutes later Corona completed a double and returned the advantage to the Andalusians.
Morales missed Pendel in the 71st minute and missed a tremendous opportunity to equalize, and ten minutes later Jules Conde set up a 1-3 draw. Roberto Soldado still tried to save the Frogs with a goal in the 87th minute, but it was too late. Sevilla raised their tally to 63 points and overtook Atletico Madrid in the table, while Levante remained below the red line with 25 points.
Espanyol – Rayo Vallecano 1: 0
The visitors knew that three points would keep them away from the bottom and did the job thanks to a lone goal by Sergei Guardiola, who won the game in the 42nd minute. Espanyol were left with 39 points, while Rayo Vallecano raised its tally to 37 points, seven more than Granada below the red line.
Cadiz – Athletic Bilbao 3: 2
The group from the Basque Country came back to win after two games at the end of a busy 90 minutes, and kept a chance, not high though, to grab the sixth place leading to Europe. Raul Garcia scored the first after three minutes thanks to a wonderful personal move inside the extension, and then, in the 22nd minute, the visitors got a penalty kick from Iker Muniain and missed, but were alert enough to correct from the rebound. Mikel and Sega completed a dreamy first half for the visitors in the 33rd minute with a wonderful kick to the right corner from the edge of the box.
Cadiz did not give up without a fight and in the 56th minute returned to the game thanks to a goal by Lucas Perez, who came first for a return ball inside the box. In the 72nd minute, Sega was sent off with a red card and the host took advantage of the numerical advantage to shrink to 3: 2 in the 87th minute from a goal by Ruben Sobrino. Unfortunately for the local crowd, the comeback was not completed and the yellow team was unable to get away from the red line, which was left by a single point.
