Title: Famous Toastery Bowl: Western Kentucky to face Old Dominion in exciting new matchup

College football fans will be introduced to a new bowl game — and a temporary one — on Monday when Western Kentucky and Old Dominion clash in the Famous Toastery Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bowl game serves as a replacement for the Bahamas Bowl, which was unable to be contested this December due to ongoing renovations at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.

The Bahamas Bowl is slated to return as scheduled in 2024. But for the meantime, the Queen City gets to host an additional bowl game this season, as former Conference USA foes reunite. Western Kentucky holds a 6-1 edge in the series against Old Dominion, most recently posting a 43-20 road win against the Monarchs in 2021.

The Famous Toastery Bowl will take place on Monday, December 18 at 2:30 pm ET at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game will be televised on ESPN and available for live streaming on Fubo. The matchup is also of special significance as Old Dominion’s defense will be without All-American linebacker Jason Henderson and Western Kentucky will be without its biggest weapon on offense in quarterback Austin Reed.

While the Western Kentucky vs. Old Dominion game was originally expected to heavily favor Western Kentucky, the quarterback change for the Hilltoppers has made the matchup much more interesting. With the changes in both lineups, the odds now favor Old Dominion.

Fans can tune in to this exciting new bowl game to see which team comes out on top.
