Prime Minister Yair Lapid met earlier with the Minister of Internal Security, Omar Bar-Lev, and the Commissioner, Kobi Shabtai. In a statement he published afterwards, Lapid referred to the meeting: “We discussed the challenges of the police in maintaining public order, in the fight against crime in general and in Arab society in particular. I thanked the commissioner for the police’s contribution to thwarting the attacks and strengthening the sense of security.”
The prime minister also added that “we discussed the necessary steps to strengthen the police, to protect its officers and to ensure the quality of its work.”
