Prime Minister Modi’s Visit to Tamil Nadu for BJP’s Election Campaign: Analysis and Impact

by time news

Prime Minister Modi visited Tamil Nadu for the fourth time since the beginning of 2024. While other visits were for government functions, this time Prime Minister Modi came 100 percent for BJP’s election campaign.

The closing ceremony of ‘En Man En Makkal’ Yatra conducted by Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai took place at Palladam Madhapur. Prime Minister Modi was present. This rally created great anticipation among the BJP. Let’s see in detail whether it is fulfilled.

‘Party join’ politics! – In particular, the BJP thought of handling some nuances to successfully conduct this. Therefore, as is happening in many states, there was talk of alternative parties joining the BJP. In particular, the BJP has planned to hold a program on the 26th at a private hotel in Palladam where some prominent leaders from the AIADMK will join the BJP.

Ever since the BJP announced the incident, the names of some prominent leaders in the AIADMK have been hit. Mafa Pandiyarajan, Thangamani, Velumani, Singhanallur MLA Jayaraman, Amman Arjunan, Kinathukadavu Damodaran were named.

But as no one came to join the party, the event was announced to be postponed. Also, in response to this, AIADMK MLA Amman Arjunan raised a storm that 2 of the 4 BJP MLAs are going to join AIADMK.

Later, speaking at a program, Velumani said, “Can DMK-AIADMK merge? Can Congress – BJP merge? “How can I join the BJP in that environment?” he put an end to these controversies. Thus, BJP’s entire stunt failed.

Annamalai ‘wicket’ talk! – The BJP planned to bring the political leaders of the Kongu region into the BJP and make the rally in this Kongu land a success. However, speaking to the press before the public meeting, Annamalai said, “AIADMK ‘big shots’ wickets will fall in Coimbatore”. Some critics are suggesting that this speech of his has become his enemy and no one has come forward to join the party.

As a result, Annamalai, speaking a few hours before the start of the public meeting, said, “There is nothing to take wickets. They join the BJP by choice,” he said. However, this talk over time did not bring any benefit to the BJP.

Public meeting political background? – The election campaign rally in which PM Modi will participate was planned to be held on 1,400 acres in Palladam. Arrangements were made for 5 lakh people to sit and 10 lakh to stand. A special route was arranged for Prime Minister Modi to reach the 60 by 80 feet platform. Food packages were also prepared for 13 lakh people.

But it is reported that 1.5 lakh people came to the public meeting. Moreover, it was also reported that the northerners working in banyan companies were given a day’s wages.

In Tamil Nadu, it is becoming common for parties to show their strength by holding public meetings during election time. In particular, Kongu Nadu, which is part of the DMK alliance, held a National People’s Party general meeting and proved its strength and won a Namakkal seat in the Lok Sabha.

Likewise, the Liberation Tigers Party also held a public meeting and showed their strength. In its way, BJP has also chosen a general meeting to demonstrate its strength in Tamil Nadu. But the question is whether their strength has been proven!

What is BJP’s strategy? – This platform has been used to highlight the Kongu area. In particular, since Prime Minister Modi was the first reason that Erode turmeric was given a geographical indication, he was garlanded with turmeric. Also, Modi mentioned Kongu region in his speech.

Also, in the context of the BJP’s withdrawal from the alliance with the AIADMK, MGR and Jayalalithaa have spoken in remembrance of the important leaders of the AIADMK. In particular, he praised the ADMK leaders that MGR had given good governance to the people of Tamil Nadu and only Jayalalithaa had given good governance after him.

Not without criticizing DMK. Talking about MGR, “He did not come to power because of family politics. “He came to power in Tamil Nadu because of his talent,” he said, slamming the DMK. “I know how much love Jayalalitha had for the Tamil people,” he said.

Modi has already scored by saying, ‘It is a pleasure to speak at a public meeting in Kongu area’ when the BJP has a significant vote bank in Coimbatore. Apart from this, it may be BJP’s plan to attract the disaffected voters of AIADMK by talking about the important leaders of AIADMK party in the ground in order to give a show to AIADMK which is very strong in Kong.

But the BJP planned to hold this meeting to show that the BJP is strong despite not joining the AIADMK. That’s what those stunts are for. However, political observers are of the opinion that even the leaders of the BJP cannot answer the question whether the purpose of the meeting was fulfilled.
