After Modi took office as Prime Minister, Amma Heeraben visited the Prime Minister’s official residence only once. It was in 2016. On that day, Modi had posted pictures of his 90-year-old mother being carried in a wheelchair through the garden of her official residence. In November 2016, pictures of her standing in an ATM queue in support of her son’s decision to ban old currency notes also surfaced.
