Prince Harry is considering canceling his upcoming trip to London in May, sources close to the Duke say.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, was planning a trip to his homeland to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The games were founded by the prince and resemble the Paralympic Games.

However, according to inside sources, Harry is concerned about his security after being stripped of his taxpayer-funded security in the UK.

The Duke is said to be considering making an appearance via video link or pre-recorded message.

“Whenever Harry travels to the UK, his travels depend on how secure he is,” a source told the New York Post.

Before deciding whether to attend the Invictus Games anniversary event, his security team must be sure that St. Paul’s Square is adequately secured by the Metropolitan Police and that his own security needs are met while he is in London.

“Harry wants to spend more time in the UK with his family, but there’s no way he can do that while there’s a question mark hanging over his security,” the source added.

The insider added that Harry was left “extremely frustrated” with his security in Britain – or the lack of it.

While rumors of Harry’s trip have yet to be confirmed, it is believed that the celebrations will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were stripped of state protection in the UK after stepping down from their royal duties and moving to the US in 2020.

This means the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will now have to pay out of pocket for their security when they travel overseas.

Earlier this month, Harry lost an appeal against the decision at the High Court in London, the latest blow to his case.

Moreover, he was ordered to pay 90% of the legal costs to the UK Home Office.
