The Procon of São Paulo notified Netflix, this Wednesday (24), due to its new policy of charging for sharing passwords with people who do not live at the same address as the subscriber.
In the statement, the agency indicated that the notification was motivated after several customer complaints and wants to understand the following information:
- What is Netflix effectively announcing to its subscribers;
- Whether there will be adoption of new charging criteria and how the new platform access system will be implemented;
- Other related information, to rule out (or validate) any violations of the CDC (Consumer Protection Code).

On the same day that it announced the charge for sharing passwords in Brazil, a measure that must complicate the lives of users, Netflix implemented two new features in its interface. Now, the “My List” section will have filters that will help the user to guide themselves with what they have already watched and with their most recent additions, and a new section will be available.
My List Filters
- Over the coming weeks, subscribers will see two new features in the “My List” section of the iOS and Android app;
- With the update, it will be possible to filter content according to format (limiting the display of only series or only movies) or by those productions that you have already started watching or not;
- Another novelty is the classification of works present in “My List”;
- It will be possible to sort them according to the release date, alphabetically or even by the date it was added to the list;
- This allows the user to select what has been on the list for a long time and he wants to remove it, avoiding creating unnecessary volume.
