The program contract of the Region of Epirus with the Agricultural University of Athens was signed on Monday for the development of the research project entitled “Chrysovitsa potato: Conducting research and collecting data with the aim of registering it as a PGI product”.

“The registration of the Chrysovitsa potato as a Geographical Indication Product is expected to offer our country a certified product of local tradition that will help the development of the primary sector and stimulate the local economy, enabling the growers of the area to increase their income and stay in their homes and finally, it will be combined with the development of agritourism”, it is stated in a press release.
